Information we collect
- Your name, email address, telephone number and message.
- Project information such as the postcode, project type, planning status, intended start date, approximate budget and any planning link you provide.
- Plans, drawings, photographs or other documents that you choose to upload.
- Records of our communications, quotations, contracts, payments and project delivery where you become a customer.
- Technical information produced when you use the website, such as device, browser, security, cookie and usage information, subject to your cookie choices.
Please do not upload documents containing personal information that is not needed for us to assess your building project.
How and why we use personal information
- To respond to an enquiry, assess whether a project is a suitable fit, arrange a site visit and prepare a quotation. This is normally necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To agree, manage and deliver contracted building work.
- To keep appropriate business, safety, contractual and financial records and meet legal obligations.
- To operate, secure, diagnose and improve the website where this is necessary for our legitimate interests and does not override your rights.
- To use non-essential cookies or similar technologies only where the applicable consent rules require and you have made that choice.
We do not use an enquiry as permission to send unrelated marketing. If we introduce optional marketing, it will have a separate choice and an unsubscribe route.
Who we may share information with
We may share only the information reasonably needed with website hosting, email, form, security and IT providers; professional advisers; insurers; payment or accounting providers; and the designers, consultants, suppliers or subcontractors involved in an agreed project. We may also disclose information where required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
Finance applications linked from our Finance page are made on the Ideal4Finance website. Ideal4Finance and its lender panel are responsible for the information collected in that application. Read Ideal4Finance’s privacy information before applying.
International processing
Some technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we require an appropriate legal safeguard or rely on another lawful transfer mechanism provided by data-protection law.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information, uploaded documents and project records only for as long as needed for the purpose collected, to manage a contract, meet legal or insurance requirements, resolve disputes and maintain necessary business records. Retention depends on whether an enquiry proceeds and the type of record. Information that is no longer required is deleted, anonymised or securely archived in line with our retention arrangements.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or to object to its use. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.
Contact us using the details above to exercise a right. We may need to confirm your identity. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Cookies and embedded services
See our Cookie Policy for information about cookies, consent controls and embedded services such as maps, security tools and analytics.
