About Prestige Building and Brickwork
Prestige Building and Brickwork is a Cambridge building company founded and run by Daryl Edwards. We build extensions and loft conversions, take on new-build work, carry out whole-house refurbishments and specialist brickwork, and handle property maintenance and repairs.
Meet Daryl Edwards
“I’ve worked in construction for twenty years. I started as a hod carrier, completed my bricklaying apprenticeship at college and progressed to running my own jobs. Along the way, I’ve worked on everything from small extensions to multi-million-pound houses. That practical experience shapes how I plan and manage projects today.
“I started Prestige in 2022 as a brickwork company. It grew into a full building company as customers asked us to take on more of their projects. Today, our team of twelve includes a project manager who helps coordinate the work and keep customers informed.
“The jobs I’m proudest of are those where the new work feels part of the original home. At Herons Close, that meant bringing a large extension and renovation together behind a unified front elevation. At Kimberley Road, it meant carefully matching new gault brickwork to an existing Victorian terrace.

Who you’ll deal with
Daryl carries out the first site visit and prepares your quotation, so the person who priced the job is responsible for delivering it.
During the build, our project manager sets out the programme with Daryl, coordinates the trades and the structural engineer, and keeps you up to date.
What you get in writing
Certificates and project paperwork are available on request.
- Quotation
- Itemised, with the scope, allowances and exclusions set out.
- Contract
- A JCT contract with payment stages and a build sequence for building projects; written terms on the quotation for smaller jobs and repairs.
- Changes
- Discussed and agreed in writing before the work goes ahead, so the effect on cost or time is clear.
- Insurance
- £10M employers’ liability, £5M public liability and £750,000 contract works cover.
- Accreditation
- CHAS accredited contractor. City & Guilds qualified.
- Aftercare
- A 12-month defects rectification period on JCT building projects; smaller jobs and repairs are covered by the written terms on their quotation. To report an issue, call Daryl on 01223 650013.
